1From the User Settings menu, select the Heart Rate settings.
2Select “Change Heart Rate” in the Heart Rate settings menu.
3Enter the desired values for Resting Heart Rate and Maximum Heart
Rate.
n
If you try to set a Resting Heart Rate value that is higher than the Maximum Heart Rate value,
the two values will automatically be set to the same number.

Stride

This setting lets you enter your personal stride length. Measure your stride as
accurately as you can for both walking and jogging and specify the two values
here. These are used for calculating the distance and pace you walk or jog in a
session (distance = steps x strides, pace = time / distance). When you specify
your height, the stride length is automatically calculated (“height x 0.8” for
jogging, “height x 0.5” for walking), so that you would normally not have to
change this setting.
1From the User Settings menu, select the Stride settings.
2After measuring your actual walking and jogging strides, enter the
appropriate value for each activity.
n
The units of measurement used here depend on the settings made in the Measurement
parameter (page 69).

Weight/Height

This setting lets you enter your personal weight and height. Measure the two as
accurately as possible. The weight setting is used to calculate the number of
calories you expend or burn during your exercise. The expended calorie value
shown when your exercise is finished is calculated based on the weight input
here. The height setting is used to calculate the distance you walked or jogged.
The distance value shown when your exercise is finished is calculated based
on the height input here.
1From the User Settings menu, select the Weight/Height settings.
2After measuring your actual weight and height, enter the
appropriate value for each.
n
The units of measurement used here depend on the settings made in the Measurement
parameter (page 69).
