DISC OPERATION

Note

The menu appears on the TV screen differs depending on the disc or current status (playback or stop).

Preview title/chapter (DVD for example)

1Press SCAN.

→ The menu appears on the TV screen.

SELECT DIGEST TYPE:

TITLE DIGEST

CHAPTER DIGEST

TITLE INTERVAL

CHAPTER INTERVAL

2Press / to highlight [TITLE DIGEST], [CHAPTER DIGEST], [TITLE INTERVAL] or [CHAPTER INTERVAL] and then, press ENTER (OK) to open one option.

3Use b/ ato open the previous or next page.

4Use / / / to select a title/chapter or use the numeric keypad (0-9)to input the selected title/

chapter number next to [SELECT].

5Press ENTER (OK) to start playback from the scene you select.

To exit from the preview function

•Use / / / to highlight [EXIT] and press ENTER (OK) to confirm.

To return to the preview menu

•In step 3 and 4, use / / / to highlight [MENU] and then, press ENTER (OK) to confirm.

■Special DVD features

Playing by title

1Press TOP MENU/RETURN.

→ The disc title menu appears on the TV screen.

2Use / / / or the numeric keypad (0-9) to select a playback option.

3Press ENTER (OK) to confirm your selection.

Camera angle

If the disc contains sequences recorded from different camera angles, this function allows you to view the picture from a number of different angles.

•Press ANGLE repeatedly to select the desired angle.

Audio

For DVD - Changing the audio language and/or format

•Press AUDIO repeatedly to select an audio language. For VCD - Changing the audio channel

•Press AUDIO repeatedly to select the available audio channels provided by the disc (STEREO, MONO LEFT, MONO RIGHT or MIX-MONO).

Subtitles

•Press SUBTITLE repeatedly to select a subtitle language for DVD, DivX and DVD-VR format discs that contain subtitles.

■Special VCD & SVCD features

Playback control (PBC)

For VCD with playback control (PBC) feature (version 2.0 only)

1Press MENU to toggle between “PBC ON” and “PBC

OFF”.

→ If you select “PBC ON”, the disc menu (if available) appears on the TV.

2Use b/ aor the numeric keypad (0-9)to select a playback option.

3During playback, press TOP MENU/RETURN to return to the menu screen (if PBC is selected).

If you want to skip the index menu and play back a disc directly from the beginning:

•Press MENU on the remote control to turn off PBC. This function can also be accessed via the [PREFERENCE PAGE] menu (see “PBC” on page 37).
