NOTE:

If any water is in the fuel, the float 5 will rise. If so, remove the cup and drain the water.

1)Remove the nut holding the fuel filter assembly if so equipped.

2)Unscrew the filter cup 1, catching any spilled fuel in a rag.

3)Remove the filter element 2, and wash it in solvent. Allow it to dry. Inspect the filter element and O-ring 3 to make sure they are in good con- dition. Replace them if necessary.

4)Reinsert the float in the filter cup, making sure the indentations in the float ring match the ribs inside the fil- ter cup. Reinstall the filter element in the cup. Make sure the O-ring is in proper position in the cup. Firmly screw the cup onto the filter housing 4.

5)Attach the filter assembly to the bracket.

6)Run the engine and check the filter and lines for leaks.
