12.10 Sys Op Mode Screen

Use this screen to select how you want to use your WAP3205.

LABEL DESCRIPTION

System Operation Mode

Access Point

Select Access Point Mode if your device bridges traffic between clients on the

 

same network.

 

• In Access Point mode all Ethernet ports have the same IP address.

 

• The default IP address of the device on the local network is 192.168.1.2.

 

 

Client Mode

Select Client Mode if your device needs a wireless client to connect to an existing

 

access point.

 

• You cannot configure wireless LAN settings like MAC filtering, QoS, WDS and

 

scheduling in the client mode.

 

• The IP address of the device on the local network is the same as the IP address

 

given to the WAP3205 while in access point mode (default is 192.168.1.2).

 

 

Universal

Select Universal Repeater Mode if you want to have wireless clients associate

Repeater Mode

with the WAP3205 and also want to connect the WAP3205 to an existing access

 

point.

 

• In addition to wireless LAN settings between the WAP3205 and wireless clients,

 

you also need to configure security and wireless settings between the WAP3205

 

and another access point.

 

• WDS is not available when the WAP3205 is in universal repeater mode.

 

• The IP address of the device on the local network is the same as the IP address

 

given to the WAP3205 while in access point mode (default is 192.168.1.2).
