4.6.1.2 Static WEP

Use this screen if the access point to which you want to connect to uses WEP security mode. Figure 15 Client Mode: WLAN > Profile: WEP

Wireless Setup

 

 

 

Profile Name

Enter a descriptive name for this profile.

 

 

Network Name

Enter the name of the access point to which you are connecting.

(SSID)

 

 

 

Security

 

 

 

Security Mode

Select Static WEP to enable data encryption.

 

 

PassPhrase

Enter a passphrase (up to 26 printable characters) and click Generate.

 

A passphrase functions like a password. In WEP security mode, it is

 

further converted by the WAP3205 into a complicated string that is

 

referred to as the “key”. This key is requested from all devices

 

wishing to connect to a wireless network.
