Wireless Security: WEP

Choose WEP security in the Security mode field to configure a WEP key for your wireless network. Figure 39 Wireless Security: WEP

If you change this field on the WAP3205, make sure all wireless stations use the

Security mode

Choose WEP security to enable data encryption using WEP keys.

 

 

WEP

Select 64-bits or 128-bits.

Encryption

This dictates the length of the security key that the network is going to use.

 

 

 

Authentication

Select Open or Shared Key from the drop-down list box.

Method

This field specifies whether the wireless clients have to provide the WEP key to login

 

 

to the wireless client.

 

Select Shared Key to force the clients to provide the WEP key prior to

 

communication. Otherwise, select Open.

Default Key

You can configure up to four 64-bit or 128-bit WEP keys but only one key can be

 

enabled at any one time.

 

Select a default WEP key to use for data encryption.
