FUNCIONAMIENTO

Vuelva a colocar inmediatamente la tapa del tanque de combustible y apriételo con la mano. Limpie todo derrame

de combustible.

No use lubricante de uso automotor ni lubricante para motores fuera de borda de 2 tiempos.

NO mezcle más producto del que pueda utilizar en un período de 30 días.

LLENADO DEL TANQUE

Limpie la superficie alrededor de la tapa del tanque de combustible para evitar toda contaminación.

Afloje lentamente la tapa del tanque de combustible. Coloque la tapa en una superficie limpia.

Vierta cuidadosamente el combustible en el tanque. Evite los derrames.

Antes de volver a colocar la tapa del tanque de combustible, limpie e inspeccione la junta.

COMBUSTIBLES OXIGENADOS

Algunas gasolinas convencionales están mezcladas con alcohol o con un compuesto de éter. Estas gasolinas se denominan colectivamente combustibles oxigenados. Para satisfacer las normas de limpieza del aire, en algunas áreas geográficas de Estados Unidos y Canadá se usan combustibles oxigenados para reducir las emisiones.

Si va a usar un combustible oxigenado, asegúrese de que no tenga plomo y satisfaga los requisitos relacionados con el octanaje nominal mínimo. Antes de usar un combustible oxi- genado, trate de confirmar el contenido del combustible. En algunos estados o provincias se requiere mostrar información en las bombas. A continuación se muestran los porcentajes de combustibles oxigenados aprobados por la EPA (Dirección de Protección Ambiental de EE.UU.):

Etanol (etilo o alcohol etílico) 10% por volumen. Puede utili- zar gasolina con un contenido de 10% de etanol por volumen. La gasolina con contenido de etanol puede comercializarse con el nombre de “gasohol”. No use combustible E85.

MTBE (éter metilbutílico terciario) 15% por volumen. Pu- ede utilizar gasolina con un contenido de 15% de MTBE por volumen.

Metanol (metilo o alcohol metílico) 5% por volumen. Puede utilizarse gasolina con un contenido de 5% de metanol por volumen, siempre y cuando contenga también cosolventes e inhibidores de corrosión para proteger el sistema de combus- tible. La gasoline con un contenido superior a 5% de metanol por volumen puede causar problemas en el arranque o en el desempeño del motor. También puede dañar piezas de metal, caucho (hule) y plástico del producto o del sistema de com- bustible.

Si observa cualquier síntoma de funcionamiento indeseable, pruebe con otra estación de gasolina o cambie de marca de gasolina.

NOTA: No están cubiertos en la garantía los problemas de desempeño o daños al sistema de combustible producidos por el uso de un combustible oxigenado con un contenido superior a los porcentajes de alcohol o compuesto de éter señalados anteriormente.
