INSTALLATIONS DE LA CONDUITE DE GAZ

Avant d'installer la conduite de gaz, vérifier le type de gaz pour lequel le chauffe-eau a été conçu. Ceci est important car différents types de gaz nécessitent des tailles de conduites différentes. La plaque signalétique sur l'appareil vous indique le type de gaz à utiliser pour ce chauffe-eau. Les tableaux, en page 47, indiquent la taille de tuyau nécessaire pour couvrir la distance du compteur à gaz au chauffe-eau. Le tableau donne des indications valables pour le gaz naturel à une gravité spécifique de 0,65, et le propane à une gravité spécifique de 1,55.

Lors de la mesure des conduites de gaz, compter trois (3) pieds (90 cm) supplémentaires de tuyaux droit pour chaque coude utilisé. En installant les conduites de gaz, éviter d'y faire pénétrer poussière, graisse, ou tout autre corps étranger dans le tuyau, cela peut endommager la soupape de gaz et entraîner une défaillance du chauffe-eau.

Le compteur à gaz doit être vérifié afin d'assurer qu'il fourni suffisamment de gaz au chauffe-eau et à tout autre appareil qui pourrait être utilisé sur le même compteur. La conduite de gaz du compteur est habituellement de plus grande dimension que la soupape de gaz fournie avec le chauffe-eau. Par conséquent, la réduction de cette conduite s'avérera nécessaire. Faites cette réduction aussi près du chauffe-eau que possible.

Le chauffe-eau, et tout autre appareil fonctionnant au gaz, doivent être débranchés de l'alimentation en gaz lors de toute vérification de la pression du système de gaz (plus grand que ½ PSIG [3,5 kPa]). Le chauffe-eau et sa connexion au gaz doivent être vérifiés contre des fuites avant de mettre le chauffe-eau en marche. Ne pas utiliser de flamme pour tester la conduite de gaz. Utiliser de l'eau savonneuse ou tout autre méthode non inflammable.

Une soupape d'arrêt manuelle principale doit être installée en externe par rapport au chauffe-eau.

COLLECTEURS DE SÉDIMENT

Installeruncollecteurdesédiment en avant des régulateurs de gaz. Le collecteur de sédiment doit être un raccord en T avec un raccord fileté doté d'un couvercle amovible dans la sortie du bas pour le nettoyage, tel que démontré dans la Figure 3, ou tout autre dispositif reconnu pour être efficace contre le sédiment. Toute installation de conduite de gaz doit être vérifiée afin de s'assurer qu'elle est conforme avec les codes locaux.
