The printer cable is not connected properly.

Unplug the power source. Make sure the printer cable is securely connected to the printer and your PC. Reconnect the power source.

The printer is not mapped to the local port.

Map the printer to LPT1. Use the Details property page to map the LPT printer port. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click Printers. Click the Xerox DocuPrint C8 icon with the right mouse button, then click Properties. Click the Details tab, and check the Print to the following port. The printer port is usually LPT1.

The printer cable is incorrect.

Use an IEEE 1284 compliant parallel printer cable.

The printer cable is damaged.

The type of interface is incorrect.

The front panel LED is blinking intermittently.

Check the printer cable and replace if damaged.

Verify that the computer is using the parallel interface. Check your Windows software manual to ensure that your operating system software communicates to the interface port that your printer is connected to.

Press and release the Printer Control (green) button to continue printing.
