3.4.8 WDS Settings

Wireless Distribution System (WDS) mode uses wireless media to connect to other wireless access points. Another term for this feature is wireless point to point or point to multi-point bridging. Wireless access points using WDS mode must be configured to use the same channel number, wireless security type, and wireless security key. Add other WDS enabled wireless access points using their device MAC addresses. This feature is only available when using WDS, AP+WDS, Mesh, or AP+Mesh modes located under Wireless > Basic Settings. To use WDS, you will require at least 2 or more wireless access points that support WDS. Note: WDS is not a wireless standard and connectivity may or may not be estab- lished between different wireless access point devices that support this feature. It is recommended to use the same device model when using this feature.
