The GbE
To transfer the software image files from the TFTP server to the switch, you can establish a Telnet session through the management module. Ping the TFTP server to make sure that you have a connection. The Telnet session performs optimally if all three network entities (TFTP server, management module, and switch IP addresses) are on the same subnet. Note: With this configuration, you can ping the GbE switch module from the TFTP server.
Use the management module interface to start a Telnet session, as described in the following steps. The requirements for running a Telnet session are described in Chapter 5, “Configuring the GbE switch module,” on page 25.
1.Log on to the management module as described in the User’s Guide or Command Line Interface Reference Guide for your management module. The login window opens.
2.From the I/O Module Tasks menu, click Configuration → Bay X → Advanced Configuration. The Advanced Configuration window opens.
3.To start a Telnet session, click Start Telnet/Web Session.
To upgrade the GbE
1.Log into the GbE switch module.
2.At the CLI prompt, type the following command and press Enter.
