Step 7 The SODIMM must be aligned at a 45-degree angle (Figure 30a).

Note When the key is in the face-up position, the metal traces on the left side of the key measure 0.9 inch (23.20 mm). The metal traces on the right side of the key measure 1.29 inches (32.80 mm). The SODIMM cannot be inserted until the keys are lined up properly.

Step 8 Place both thumbs at the end of the socket and use your index fingers to guide the module into the socket until it is fully seated.

Caution On 4-port OC-3c/STM-1 ISE and 4-port OC-12c/STM-4c ISE line cards, make sure that the SODIMM1 module does not touch the installed module in SODIMM0.

Be sure your index fingers are located on the outer corners of the SODIMM to maintain even pressure when the module is being seated in the socket.
