LOCAL MANAGEMENT

Setting SNMP Traps

To set SNMP traps:

1.Use the arrow keys to highlight the Trap Destination field.

2.Enter the IP address of the device that will receive trap alarms from the TRXI, then press Return. The format for this entry is XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX, with the value of XXX ranging from 0 to 255.

3.Use the arrow keys to highlight the Trap Community Name field.

4.Enter the community name of the device, then press Return. If you press Return without entering a community name, the field defaults to <CR>.

5.Use the arrow keys to highlight the Enable Traps field.

6.Enter Y (yes) to send alarms from the TRXI to the workstation, or N (no) to prevent alarms from being sent.

7.Use the arrow keys to highlight the SAVE command at the bottom of the screen.

8.Press Return. The “SAVED” message appears indicating that your changes have been saved to memory.
