4.2PRE-INSTALLATION CHECKOUT

The SEHI is equipped with an NVRAM reset switch (Figure 4-1) located behind the grillwork on the side of the hub. Ensure that this switch is in the DOWN position by looking in through the grillwork on the right side of the hub. If the switch is UP, move it into the DOWN position with a non-metallictool. Do not remove the chassis cover to perform this operation. Leaving the switch in the UP position results in user-installed parameters such as IP address and Community Names being cleared from NVRAM whenever the SEHI loses power and/or is reset. See Chapter 6, Section 6.4 for detailed instructions on setting the NVRAM switch.

The SEHI may be installed on a tabletop or shelf, or in a 19-inch rack, and configured as a standalone or stacked hub.

Refer to Section 4.3 for information concerning a tabletop or shelf installation. Section 4.4 describes the rackmount installation.
