Examples

To change the password for user alpha, when logged in as admin, enter the following.

pm>passwd alpha

Password:

Re-enter password:

Username/password set for user alpha.

To change the admin password (must be logged in as admin), enter the following

pm>passwd

Password: <new password>

Re-enter password:

Username/password set for user admin.

To change the password of a regular user when logged in as that user, enter the following.

pm>passwd

Password:

Re-enter password:

Username/password set for user alpha.

reboot

The reboot command reboots a PM IPDU. You may reboot a specific unit by issuing the reboot command followed by the unit’s logical number or the unit’s ID. Issuing the reboot command without a parameter reboots the first unit in a chain, not all the units in a chain. This command is available to the admin user only.

Syntax

reboot [<IPDU#><IPDU_ID>]

Arguments

<IPDU#> IPDU number in a daisy chain

<IPDU_ID> Identification string previously set by the id command
