Using the FS-2/2E

When mounted, your FireWire disk drive should appear on the computer's desktop as shown below:

The FireStore formatted disk drive appears as a FAT32 volume with a PC label.

NOTE: This is not always the case on Version 10 of the Macintosh operating system however.

STEP 3: Once you have located your FireWire disk drive on the desktop, double click the disk icon to open it up. Once opened, you will see the following:

Dismounting FireWire Disk Drives (Macintosh)

Once you have completed working with your disk drive on a Macintosh computer system, you must dismount the drive before unplugging it.

Do this as follows:

STEP 1: Select the disk drive on the computer's desktop. It is marked with a PC symbol.

STEP 2: Drag the drive into the trash. This dismounts the particular disk drive.

Creating a Playlist

Use the following procedure to create a simple playlist on the FS-2/2E.

STEP 1: Ensure no playlist is open.

STEP 2: TO ADD A CLIP - Play a clip you wish to add to the playlist. Using the front panel buttons, press MARK IN and MARK OUT for the particular portion of the clip to add to the playlist. Both buttons will light.

STEP 3: Once marked, press the front panel PLAYLIST button. The MARK IN and MARK OUT key lights will go out.

STEP 4: Navigate to the next clip and again mark in and out points followed by pressing PLAYLIST.

STEP 5: Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add all desired clips.

STEP 6: Once you have selected all the clips you wish to add to the playlist, stop playback and navigate to the PLAYLIST menu on the FS-2/2E.

STEP 7: Select SAVE and name the playlist. (It is also possible to modify your created playlist using the PLAYLIST-> EDIT menu.

STEP 8: To playback the playlist, navigate to PLAY-FROM in the FS-2/2E menu and select PLAYLISTS. Select the desired playlist and then exit. The PLAYLIST button on the front panel will light.

All playback now comes only from the created playlist.
