Locating the Combo Hard Disk Drive on Your Desk

Place the Combo Hard Disk drive on a sturdy desk or table that is free from clutter that could block airﬂow around the unit. The drive is designed to lie ﬂat on its rubber feet, or may stand upright using the included stand. In either orientation take care not to block any air vents. If using the upright orientation, install so that the ON/OFF button is at the top.

Connecting Combo Hard Disk

Combo Hard Disk provides both FireWire and USB 2.0 connections. You can connect your Combo Hard Disk to a computer with either FireWire or USB, but not both at the same time.

Connecting your Combo Hard Disk drive to a computer is extremely simple. Follow the steps below.

1Connect the included AC Adapter to the Combo Hard Disk drive, and then to a wall outlet using the included power cord.

2Next press the ON/OFF button on the front of the Combo Hard Disk drive.

3Finally, connect the data cable. For USB, connect the included USB cable from the USB port on the Combo Hard Disk drive to an available USB port on your computer. For FireWire, connect the included FireWire cable from one of the FireWire ports on the Combo Hard Disk drive to an available FireWire port on your computer.

4The Combo Hard Disk drive will mount automatically, and a new icon

will appear in My Computer (Windows) or a new icon will appear on the desktop (Mac).
