Note! ViewRTU inserts default values for the Config parameters when the point is first defined. It is usually only necessary to fill in a few configuration parameters, such as channel numbers, to configure references and to configure links to other points.

4.3.2.2Parameter Data Formats

Data is stored in the TankGate as one of the following formats:

Coded

Unsigned Integer representing a digital state such as ‘On,’

 

‘Off,’ ‘Open,’ ‘Closed,’ etc.

16-bit value (-32766 to 32767)

 

 

Unsigned Integer

16-bit value (0 to 65535)

 

 

IEEE floating point

32-bit value with mantissa and exponent

 

 

Time

Unsigned Long Integer representing the number of

 

milliseconds since Jan. 1, 1970.

 

 

Tag

ASCII character strings, variable in length. Used for Tag and

Point Reference

Reference to a point parameter. Format is

 

TYPE.NUMBER.PARAM where

 

TYPE is AI, DI, DO, etc.

 

NUMBER is point number, 0-255

 

PARAM is the parameter of interest, such as Value or

 

Command.

 

example: AI.00.Value

 

 

Unsigned Long Integer

32-bit value (0 to 4,294,967,295)

 

 

Pointer

32-bit value representing a pointer to another parameter or

 

memory location.

 

 

Long Integer

32-bit value

 

 

Integer (Hex format)

Integer in Hex (0x0000 to 0xFFFF)

 

 

Time HH:MM:SS

Unsigned Long Integer representing the number of

 

milliseconds since midnight.

 

 

Time MM/DD/YY

Unsigned Long Integer representing the number of

 

milliseconds since Jan. 1, 1970.
