Replacing the CMEM Chip

Replace CMEM Follow these steps to replace a CMEM chip:

Step Action

1Remove the card from the nest or enclosure.

2Locate the CMEM chip (Figure 2-17).

On the CMEM chip, note the location of the dot in the lower left corner, which is toward the front of the card. This will help you orient the new chip.

3Using a standard chip-puller, remove the CMEM chip.

4Insert the new CMEM chip into the socket. Be sure that the dot in the chip is oriented toward the front of the card.
