2.7.4 How to setup

1Set the fax machine to FAX ONLY mode by pressing {AUTO ANSWER} repeatedly to display the following.

LThe display will show the number of rings before the fax machine answers a call in

FAX ONLY mode.

LYou can change the ring count setting by pressing {A} or {B}.

Press {SET} to complete the ring count

setting.

LThe AUTO ANSWER light is ON.

2Confirm the automatic answer feature on the computer is set to off.

L You can also select “FAX ONLY MODE” by #00 (page 16).

2.7.5 How to receive calls

When receiving calls, the fax machine will automatically answer all calls and only receive fax documents.

Note:

LIf you use your computer as an answering machine, please refer to page 21.

LWhen the fax machine is using the telephone line (e.g., during phone calls, fax

sending/receiving), the telephone line is busy and MODEM cannot be used.

LWhen the PC is using the telephone line, the following will be displayed:

EXT. IN USE

EXT. IN USE” means MODEM or an extension telephone is in use on the same line.

Do not use the fax machine while the message is displayed, or else the PC activities could be disturbed.
