RAM modules are extremely sensitive to static electricity. There are cases where static electricity generated by the human body has adversely affected such modules. In addi- tion, it is easy to damage the RAM modules or internal components of the computer. Therefore, when installing or removing a RAM module, handle the module with extreme care.

Installing/Removing the RAM Module

1 Power off your computer ( page 10)

Do not shut down using the suspend or hibernation mode.

CAUTION

Do not install or remove peripherals while your computer is in the suspend or hibernation mode; abnormal operation may result.

2 Remove the memory cover after removing the screw holding

Turn your computer over and use a screwdriver to remove the screw.

CAUTION

Do not touch the terminals or internal components, insert objects other than the module, or allow foreign particles to enter. Doing so has been known to cause damage, fire or electric shock.

3 Installing the RAM module

1 Slide the module in at an angle.

2Snap the module into place by pushing it down.

1Open the left and right hooks.

Gently remove the RAM module from the slot.
