Using the scanner glass

You can use the scanner glass to copy or scan pages of a book one page at a time.

How to load documents

Note

(DCP-185C) To use the scanner glass, the ADF must be empty.

a Lift the document cover.

b Using the document guidelines on the left and top, place the document face down in the upper left corner of the scanner glass.

c Close the document cover.

CAUTION

If you are scanning a book or thick document, DO NOT slam the cover or press on it.

Scannable area

The scannable area depends on the settings in the application you are using. The figures below show the areas you cannot scan on Letter and A4 paper.
