Loading documents

You can make copies and scan from the ADF (automatic document feeder) (DCP-185C only) and from the scanner glass.

Using the ADF (DCP-185C only)

The ADF can hold up to 15 pages and feeds each sheet individually. Use standard 80 gsm paper and always fan the pages before putting them in the ADF.

Recommended environment

Temperature:

20 to 30° C

Humidity:

50% to 70%

Paper:

80 gsm

Loading documents and paper

How to load documents

CAUTION

DO NOT pull on the document while it is

feeding.2

DO NOT use paper that is curled, wrinkled, folded, ripped, stapled, paper clipped, pasted or taped.

DO NOT use cardboard, newspaper or fabric with the ADF. Instead use the scanner glass.

„Make sure documents written with ink are completely dry.

a Unfold the ADF Document Output Support Flap (1).

b Fan the pages well. Make sure you put the documents face down, top edge first in the ADF until you feel them touch the feed roller.

c Adjust the paper guides (2) to fit the width of your documents.

CAUTION

DO NOT leave thick documents on the scanner glass. If you do this, the ADF may jam.
