8 “AA” Alkaline Batteries

1. Twist cap to open battery compartment.

2. Slide battery compartment out of handle.

Note: The 1420EZ Writer is powered by alkaline batteries. At the end of their service life, dispose of alkaline batteries in accordance to federal, state and local requirements.

1. POWER: Turns unit on and off

1. SERIAL PORT: RS232 Port to connect 1420EZ Writer unit to a PC

2.CONTRAST: Adjusts contrast of screen

3.BACKLIGHT: Toggles the backlight low, high and off

4.BATTERY ICON: Indicates battery level
