Grounding the Provider Unit

AT-MC601, AT-MC602 Installation and User’s Guide

When an AT-MC602 Provider unit is used as a standalone network extender, you must ground the unit to a ground point to ensure a safe and proper operation.

Grounding the chassis requires the following items:

One cable lug (provided)

One M4 x 8mm screw (provided)

Crimping tool (not provided)

One 12 AWG stranded wire or 14 AWG solid wire (not provided)

Warning

Make sure to attach the frame to ground before you power on the chassis.

To ground the unit to the ground point, perform the following procedure:

1.Use a crimping tool to affix the provided cable lug to one end of the 12 AWG bundled or 14 AWG solid ground wire.

2.Insert the M4 screw into the cable lug, as illustrated in Figure 16.

3.Secure the cable lug with the M4 screw to the rear panel of the Provider unit, as illustrated in Figure 17.

4.Attach the other end of the ground wire to an appropriate ground (earth) rod of the building.
