1. PRECAUTIONS

1-2 Cold Weather Power-up

Avoid raising the room temperature abruptly when it is below 40 C

[39 ‘F], or condensation may form inside the machine.

1.Raise the room temperature to 200 C [ (i&F] at less than 100 C [18°F] per hour.

2.Wait for 30 to 60 minutes.

3.Turn the power on.

Do not use the machine near a humidifier.

1-3 Thunderstorms

With proper grounding, about 90% of lightning damage can be prevented. However, if possible, during severe electrical storms turn the power switch off and disconnect the power cord and telephone line cord.

1-4 Copy Paper

FAX PAPER TYPE 30 AS (98 ft.) is recommended. Thermal paper is discolored by heat or chemicals.

Handle with the following precautions.

Unused paper

1)Store in a dry, cool, dark place.

2)Do not use adhesive or writing materials containing alcohol or other organic solvents.

3)Avoid contact with films or adhesive tapes containing plasticizers.

4)Avoid contact with diazo photosensitive paper.

5)When a copy gets wet, dry it by pressing gently with soft cloth or tissue.

6)Do not scratch or rub with hard materials.

7)Do not copy with a mercury lamp diazo copier.

8)Make a photocopy if the information is to be kept for a long time.
