Configuring the MES1A/B

Slave IP Address

Type in the four octets of the IP address of the slaves being addressed.

If you configure the last octet as 000 the MES1A/B will use the Slave Address/Unit ID of the slave as part of the IP address. This allows a Modbus/RTU master (connected through the MES1A/B) to access up to 255 remote Modbus TCP slaves.

If you configure the last octet for a number between 1 and 254, all slave polls in this group will be sent to the same IP address.
