4 Close the top cover of the remote commander, then press ENTER to confirm.

The date, start and stop times, programme position, and tape speed appear on the TV screen.

If you want to turn on the PDC function, or add daily/weekly settings on the programme, see page 40 and change the TIMER SET/CHECK menu.

For details on the PDC function, see “Timer recording with PDC signals” on page 41.

TIMER REC on the unit has the same function as TIMER REC ON/OFF on the remote commander.

Note

If you selected any audio input while watching the unit’s VCR picture before the unit’s VCR enters recording standby, only the picture switches to the TV after you press TIMER REC ON/OFF.

5 To enter another setting, repeat steps 1 through 4.

6 Press TIMER REC ON/OFF.

The TIMER indicator appears in the display window and the unit’s VCR stands by for timer recording.

The picture and sound switch to the TV.

To stop recording

To stop the unit‘s VCR while recording, press TIMER REC ON/OFF.

To record satellite broadcasts

If you connect a satellite tuner and the unit, you can record satellite programmes.

1Turn on the satellite tuner.

2Press VHS LINE (if the satellite tuner is connected to the unit with the LINE jacks).

3On the satellite tuner, select the satellite programme for which you wish to make a timer setting.

4Repeat the steps 1 through 6 starting on page 37.

5Keep the satellite tuner turned on until the unit’s VCR finishes the timer recording.
