Controlling an LD player

To locate a particular chapter or track

Press any number button to enter the single digit chapter/track number (except 0).

For two-digit numbers, press >10 repeatedly to enter the tens digit (the number of times you press the button becomes the tens digit number). Then press any number button to enter the ones digit.

Examples of entering a two-digit number

To play a chapter or track on the opposite side of the LD, press

9 SIDE B while playing SIDE A (or ( SIDE A while playing SIDE B), then enter the chapter or track number.

To play frame-by-frame (Step Play)

Press '/7 FRAME repeatedly. Each press shifts the picture to the next frame.

For continuous frame playback, press and hold '/7 FRAME. To resume normal playback, press · PLAY.

To listen to analog sound from an LD

If your LD contains digital sound tracks, the player automatically outputs digital sound. To listen to the sound recorded on analog soundtracks, press ANALOG/´. To resume the digital mode, press ANALOG/ ´ again.

To play a stereo disc or Second Audio Programme (SAP) disc

When playing SAP discs such as bilingual discs, you can alternate the sound output by pressing AUDIO MONITOR. Each press changes the sound as follows.

To play an LD with the ´ (CX) logo

LDs with the ´ logo are recorded with the CX noise reduction system for analog sound. Although LD players usually detect and activate this system, you can manually set the LD player to use the system.

Press ANALOG/´.

To cancel this function, press ANALOG/´ again.

Turning off the LD player

Press u while the remote commander is in LD control mode.
