Programme Navigation

When you record a TV programme with this VCR, the VCR automatically stores in its memory the recording date, start time and station name. You can store these information for up to

8programmes on one cassette. At maximum, information for 10 tapes can be stored. You can also enter the programme title when performing ‘VIDEO Plus+ Timer Programming’ ( pg. 23) or ‘Express Timer Programming’ ( pg. 26). It is possible to store these infor- mation only when ‘PROG. NAVIGATION’ is set to ‘ON’ (default setting) ( pg. 41).

When inserting a cassette with the record safety tab intact ...

CHECKING TAPE DATA

REMAIN [ 3]

The VCR checks the tape information for the Programme Navigation. If the VCR can store the information for 3 or less tapes, ‘REMAIN [ _]’ also appears on the TV screen.

If the VCR has already stored the information for 10 tapes, ‘MEMORY FULL’ appears. If you perform new recording, the oldest tape informa- tion will be deleted from the VCR’s memory.

CHECKING TAPE DATA

MEMORY FULL

If the VCR cannot detect the tape information, ‘NO TAPE

DATA DETECTED’ appears.

NO TAPE DATA DETECTED

NOTE:

If you press any button while ‘CHECKING TAPE DATA’ appears on the TV screen, the operation is canceled.

When inserting a cassette whose record safety tab has been removed ...

Playback begins automatically. You can use Navigation Playback ( pg. 40), but you cannot edit programme title or delete tape data ( pg. 41, 42).

NOTES:

Programme Navigation is possible with the cassettes recorded with this VCR only.

Before recording, make sure the VCR’s clock is set correctly.

To record the programme information in this VCR’s memory, you must continue to record each programme for over the minimum recording time; 8 minutes for the SP mode, 15 minutes for the LP mode or 23 minutes for the EP mode.

Programme Navigation may not work properly depending on the tape being used.

The programme information is stored in this VCR’s memory. If the memory in this VCR should ever be damaged and the programme information lost, it is impossible to restore that information.
