WIRELESS LAN SET Settings

Camera Wireless LAN Settings

Make these settings after steps 1 and 2 on page 51 have been completed.

1 Click the [WIRELESS LAN] menu select button.

The WIRELESS LAN SET screen will be displayed.

2 Select “USE” from the [WIRELESS LAN USE] drop-down list box.

If the wireless LAN card has been inserted, the items marked with will automatically show details for the inserted card.

3 Type in the same ESS ID that was set for the wireless LAN device.

The ESS ID can consist of up to 32 alphanumeric characters.

4 Set the encipherment method.

Because the camera and the wireless LAN device communicate by means of radio waves, there is the possibility that wireless packets could be intercepted and decoded by outsiders. It is recommended that you complete the encipherment setting in order to provide greater security. (p. 53)

5 Make the TCP/IP settings.

Obtain the IP address and other information from your network systems administrator.

6 Click the [SET] button and then turn off the power.

Now make the settings in step 4 (wireless LAN device settings).
