Access code

Barred functions can be operated after the access code is entered.

AOC parameter - Advice of Charge

List of charges in which a charge per unit and a credit balance can be entered.

Broker’s call

It is possible to make a second call without ending the first one. You can then switch from one call to the other.

You can also answer a call from a second party without ending the call to the first.

Cell Broadcast

Cell Broadcast is a short message service which operates in numbered “channels”. The channels transmit different special mes- sages.

Request more detailed information and a list of the available channels from your network operator.

GSM network - Global System for Mobile Communication

European cellular telephone standard avail- able world-wide.

IMEI - International Mobile Equipment Identity

International identity for mobile equipment. The IMEI code entered at the factory in- cludes the serial number, manufacturer and country code. You can find this code in the car radio pass.

Mailbox

Electronic mailbox provided by network op- erators for spoken messages. The mailbox can be compared to an answering machine.

Switches audio off

PIN code - Personal Identification Number

PIN 1

Protects the SIM card from being used by unauthorised persons. You must enter the PIN code each time the card is inserted into the unit.

PIN 2

Code for special functions.

If you are entitled to use special functions with your card, you need a PIN 2 code. Both codes are supplied with the SIM card and can be altered if desired.

PUK - Personal unblock code

Eight-digit unblock code which can reacti- vate the SIM card. This becomes necessary if the PIN code for the SIM card has been entered incorrectly three times.

Roaming

Making telephone calls in foreign countries with your own telephone or your own SIM card using a different network operator.

Moves you through a directory.

SIM card - Subscriber Identification Module

In credit-card format.

The SIM card contains all of the data re- quired to identify the subscriber, to allocate the telephone number and the personal phone book.

Using your SIM card it is also possible to make telephone calls with a cellular phone.
