Preparation:

³Press [ê/I] to turn the unit on.

³Turn on the television and switch the video input mode of the televi- sion to suit the type of connection you have made (e.g., VIDEO 1).

³Lower volume with [MIC VOL], then connect the microphone(s) to the microphone jack(s). (Plug type 6.3 mm monaural)

1 Start the source.

2 Select the Karaoke mode.

See below ([A], [B] or [C]) for operation details.

3 Adjust the main volume and micro- phone volume.

Other sources (except for radio)

The changes in Karaoke mode are shown on the tuner/amplifier.

[B]Video CD/CD/cassette tape (multiplex) Press [KARAOKE] to turn the vocals off.

Each time you press the button: MONO L: Vocal off (Lch only) MONO R: Vocal on (Rch only)

(off):

Karaoke mode canceled.

[C]DVD/Video CD/CD/cassette tape/video tape (non-Karaoke)

Press [V.MUTE] to turn the vocals off.

V.MUTE: Vocal off

(off):

Karaoke mode canceled.

Note

³The Karaoke modes cannot be used with the radio, 3D AI EQ or surround effects (á pages 29 and 30).

³If a strange noise (squealing or howling) is emitted during use, move the microphone away from the speakers, or turn down the microphone volume.

When you are not using the microphone, disconnect it from the MIC jack, and turn down the microphone volume level to MIN.

When using the VOICE MUTE function

Voice mute may not function sufficiently or noise may interfere when using the following software.

³Monaural software

³Software with few musical instruments, including classical music and poetry recitations

³Software with duets or strong choruses
