Using the timers

The play timer

This timer starts play of a selected source at a selected time.

The example shows settings for preset radio channel 8 to play be- tween 6:30 and 7:40 at j40 dB.

Preparation: Turn the unit on, set the time (á page 12), preset radio stations if you want the timer to start playing the radio (á page 25).

1 1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER, –DEMO] to select “ FPLAY.”

Each time you press the button:

CLOCK>FPLAY>FREC>Original display

the appropriate setting and

2Select the start time.

Insert a disc or tape if you select these sources.

If you select TUNER

Select a preset channel.

5 Select the volume.

The play timer is now on standby. The display shows each setting again then restores the original display.

6 Press [ê/I] to turn the unit off.

The “FPLAY/FREC” indicator remains lit to show the play (or record) timer is on even when ECO mode is selected (á page 12).

The timer starts at the set time with the volume increasing gradually to the set level.

To cancel the timer

Press [FPLAY/FREC] so “FPLAY” goes out.

Each time you press the button:

FPLAY>FREC>FPLAY FREC>Light off (OFF)

The play timer function will be canceled, but the settings stay in memory.

When you insert cassettes in decks 1 and 2, deck 1 has priority.
