/sbin/hwmaint start vsb n

In the preceding example, n is the virtual SCSI bus location (either 2 or 3) that you suspended before installing the tape drive.

4.Verify that the tape drive is operating properly by issuing a tape-drive operatingcommand such as cpio to copy a small file to tape, and then copy the same file from the tape to the /tmp directory. The tape-drive operating commands are described in the FTX Commands Reference Manual (R460X).

If the tape drive is not operating properly after performing the previous steps refer to the manuals DNCP Series 400/400-CO(PA-8500): Tape Drive Operation Guide (R716) for troubleshooting information.
