PROCEDURE 6

 

 

USING THE TELESCOPING BACK CANES (FIGURE 5)

RAISING/LOWERING

1.Lift up the lever securing the telescoping back cane.

2.If back canes are completely lowered and handle is folded against the back, rotate the telescoping back cane until it stops.

3.Raise/lower the cane handle to the desired height.

4.Push down to close the lever and secure the telescoping back cane.

5.Push down on back cane to ensure levers hold the desired position of the back cane.

6.If levers do not hold the position, tighten the lever by performing the following:

A.Flip lever to the unlocked position.

B.Rotate thumbscrew CLOCKWISE one (1) revolution.

NOTE: When tightening the lever, the lever must be able to close completely into the locked position. Otherwise, the levers will not hold the desired angle.

C. Flip levers to the locked position.

NOTE: If the levers do not close completely into the locked position, rotate the thumbscrew on each lever COUNTERCLOCKWISE 1/2 revolution.

D.Repeat STEPS A-C for opposite lever.

E.Push down on back cane to ensure levers hold the desired position of the back cane.

F.Repeat STEPS A-E until levers hold the desired position.

STORING

1.Lift up the lever securing the telescoping back cane.

2.Lower the telescoping back cane.

3.Rotate the cane handle until folded against the back.

4.Push down to close the lever and secure the telescoping back cane.
