Text message alert

Available for:

KX-TG7871 series (page 3)

This feature sets the handset and base unit to notify the arrival of a new text message on a cellular phone that is paired with the base unit. This notification is displayed momentarily on both the handset and the base unit, and announced 2 times. The announcement is in English only.

The default setting is On.

Important:

RTo use the text message alert feature, you need to pair your cellular phone to the base unit (page 17).

RYour cellular phone must support Message Access Profile (MAP) specification. We recommend that you confirm if your cellular phone supports MAP in advance.

RFor more details and the list of compatible cellular phones, please visit our Web site: http://www.panasonic.com/link2cell

For those whose devices do not support the Message Access Profile (MAP):

By installing the application “Text Message Alert”, you can use the text message alert feature. Please visit our Web site: http://www.panasonic.net/pcc/support/tel/

RRefer to your cellular phone operating instructions for information on how to install applications.

RIf the text message alert feature does not work, you must turn on notifications in the Bluetooth settings of your cellular phone.

For instructions on how to do this, visit our Web site: http://www.panasonic.net/pcc/support/tel/

RThe unit cannot display or announce that a text message has been received during a call.

RText message alerts are not logged in the caller list of your unit.

Using a Bluetooth wireless headset (optional) for landline calls

By pairing a Bluetooth headset to the base unit, you can have a hands-free conversation wirelessly for landline calls.

Important:

R1 headset can be paired to the base unit. However, only one Bluetooth device (cellular phone or headset) can be connected to the base unit at a time.

RFor best performance, we recommend using a Bluetooth headset within 1 m (3.3 feet) of the base unit. A headset can communicate with the base unit within a range of approximately 10 m (33 feet).
