The seam guides on the needle plate are there to help you measure seam width. The lines are 1/8- apad, with the 5/8 °. and 7/8- lines marked.

• Turn a Square Corner

To turn a square corner 5/8- from the fabric edge:

I.Sbp stitahing and tower the needle by turning the handwheel toward you when the tabrJc edge lacing you llnes up with the cornering guide, as shown.

2.Raise the presser foot and turn the fabric to line up the edgewith the 5/8"" seam guide.

3.Lower the presser foot and begin stitching in the new direction.
