p)Sewing a zipper

Using the zipper foot, you can sew closely along the edges of the zipper, without damaging either the zipper or the needle.

The zipper foot is also useful for sewing edges or parallel seams.

Attach the zipper foot, as described in Chapter 8.

For the stitch pattern, select the straight stitch.

Fold over about 2 cm of cloth and place the zipper under the fold so that the edges of the zip only just stand out. It might be helpful to stitch in the zipper first.

Sew as closely as possible along the edges of the zipper.

-To sew the left side of the zipper, the zipper foot must be placed to the left of the needle.

-To sew the right side of the zipper, the zipper foot must be placed to the right of the needle.
