Transferring System Information to the C4630 SE

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All programming that you perform in the Sonance Control Manager must be transferred from your

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

computer to the C4630 SE unit via its front-panel USB connection (see Figure 27). The C4630 SE comes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

with a USB cable that connects between the USB connector and your computer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: Before you can transfer programming to the C4630 SE via the USB port, you must

initialize the C4630 SE to your computer. To do this, provide power to the C4630 SE then connect

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the USB cable between it and your computer. Your computer should recognize the C4630 SE and

USB Connection

If your computer does not recognize the C4630 SE, you can go to the computer’s Device Manager

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(under CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER) and induce the computer to scan for new hardware attached by selecting SCAN under the ACTION option at the top of the window.

To transfer programming to the C4630 SE:

1.Program the Sonance Control Manager software as described in the sections below.

2.When the programming is completed, connect the included cable between the C4630 SE’s USB connection and your computer.

3.Open the COMMUNICATION menu and select SEND TO DEVICE. The DEVICES IN THE CURRENT SYSTEM

screen (Figure 28) will appear. All C4630 SEs in the system will be listed in the window.

4.Click on the SEND button for the C4630 SE to which you want to transfer the programming.

Once the data transfer is complete, close the DEVICES in the CURRENT SYSTEM window and disconnect the USB cable from the C4630 SE. The C4630 SE will then resume operation according to the new programming.

Updating the Sonance Control Manager Software and Firmware

Sonance may from time to time may make upgrades to the Sonance Control Manager software and the C4630 SE firmware available via the Sonance website (www.sonance.com). To check for the latest versions go to www.sonance.com and select the ELECTRONICS category. From there, select the C4630 SE and go to the DOWNLOADS section. Note the version numbers of SONANCE CONTROL MANAGER and C4630 SE firmware that are listed.

Upgrading Sonance Control Manager Software

To check which version of Sonance Control Manager is loaded on your computer, launch the Sonance Control Manager program, select the HELP menu, then scroll down to ABOUT. The box shown in Figure 29 will appear. If the software version on the computer is earlier than the one listed on the Sonance website:

1.Follow the instructions on the website to download the newer version of Sonance Control Manager onto your computer.

2.Unzip the SETUP.EXE file and double-click it. Follow the instructions to install the program.
