Your new tractor has been assembled at the factory with exception of those parts left unassembled for shipping purposes. To ensure safe and proper operation of your tractor all parts and hardware you assemble must be tightened securely. Use the correct tools as necessary to insure proper tightness_

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY

A socket wrench set will make assembly easier. Standard wrench sizes are listed.

TO REMOVE TRACTOR FROM

CARTON

UNPACK CARTON

. Remove all accessible loose parts and parts cartons from carton.

oCut along dotted lines on all four panels of carton. Remove end panels and lay

side panels flat.

Remove mower and packing materials.

Check for any additional loose parts or cartons and remove.

BEFORE REMOVING TRACTOR FROM SKID

TO CHECK BATTERY

1, Uf_ hood to raised position.

NOTE: If this battery is put into service after month and year indicated on label (label is located between terminals) charge battery for minimum of one hour at 6-10 amps, (See

"BATTERY" in Maintenance section of this manual for charging instructions),

Forbatteryand batterycableinstatlationsee "R EPLACING BATTERY" in the "Service

and Adjustments" section in this manual.

2.Lift up adjustment lever (A) and slide seat until a comfortable position is reached which allows you to press clutch/brake pedal all the way down.

3.Release lever to lock seat in position.

NOTE: You may now roll your tractor off the skid° Follow the instructions below to remove the tractor from the skid.

d_, WARNING: Before starting, read, un- derstand and follow all instructions in the

Operation section of this manual. Be sure tractor is in a well-ventilated area° Be sure

the area in front of tractor is clear of other people and objects.

TO ROLL TRACTOR OFF SKID (See

Operation section for location and

function of controls)

I.Raise attachment lift lever to its highest position,

2.Release parking brake by depressing clutch/brake pedal,

3.Place gearshift lever in neutral position,

4.Roll tractor forward off skid.

Continue with the instructions that follow.

TO INSTALL MOWER

I. SET PARKING BRAKE LEVER AND LOWER ATTACHMENT LIFT LEVER

Depress clutch/brake pedal all the way down and holdo

Pull parking brake lever up and hold, release pressure from clutch!brake pedal, then release parking brake lever. Pedal should remain in brake position. Ensure parking brake wilt hold tractor secure.
