Setting the Flash _
The built-in flash and external Speedlite settings can be set withthe
camera's menu. You can use the camera's menu toset theexternal
Speedlite function settings only if the attached EX-series Speedlite is
compatible with this function.
The setting procedure is the same as setting acamera menu function.
Select [Flash control].
Under the [_'] tab, select [Flash
control], then press <8>.
The flash control screen will appear.
Normally, setthis to[Enable].
If [Disable] is set, neither the built-
in flash nor the external Speedlite

want to use the fiash's AF-assist
beam.
With [Built-in flash func. setting] and [External flash func. setting],
you can set the functions listed on the next page. The functions
displayed under [External flash func. setting] will vary depending on
the Speedlite model.

or [External flash func. setting].
The flash functions will be displayed.
The functions not dimmed can be
selected and set.
Evenif [Flashfiring] hasbeen set to [Disable], iffocus is difficultto achieve
inlow light, the built-in flash may still fire a series of flashes (AF-assist
