Connecting to Shielded Twisted-pair (STP) Cable
1Locate the adapter’s DB-9 connector on the backplate, as
shown in Figure 2-5.

2Locate the DB-9 connector on the shielded twisted-pair
cable.
3Connect the cable’s DB-9 connector to the adapter’s DB-9
port, and secure it by tightening the two screws.
4Connect the other end of the cable to a network dual
access unit (DAU), a multistation access unit (MAU), or a
controlled access unit (CAU).
If you have a NetWare server, proceed to Chapter 3. If you
have any other type of network operating system, proceed to
Chapter 4.
