Front panel board

For a description of the features on the front panel board, see “Front control panel” on page 8.

Installing the front panel board

1Turn off power to the server and unplug the AC power cords from the power source.

2Remove the front access panel (refer to page 46).

3Remove the fan modules and the foam fan baffle (refer to page 88).

4Disconnect the cables from the front panel board: the front panel board ribbon cable, the intrusion switch cables, the USB cable, and the serial port cable (refer to page 91).

One end of the front panel board is inserted into a slot in the front subchassis and the other end is secured with a screw and a snap-top standoff.

5Remove the screw that secures the front panel board to the front of the chassis.

6Grasp the end of the board closest to the side of the chassis and pull to disengage the board from the standoff.

7Gently slide the board out of the slot in the front subchassis.
