A.1.2 Anti-static Precau tions

WARNING:

Failure to take ESD precaution s during the installation of the PCH5120 may result in

permanent damage to the PCH5120 and sever injury to the user.

Electrosta tic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damag e to electronic components , including

the PCH5120. Dry climate s are especially susceptible to ESD. It is therefore critical that when-

ever the PCH5120 is opened and any of the electr ical components are handled, the following anti-

static precaution s are strictly adhered to.

ƒ Wear an anti-sta tic wristband: Wearin g a simple anti-static wristband can help to prevent ESD

from damaging any electrical compo nent.

ƒ Self-grounding: Before handl ing any electrical component, touch any grounded conducting

material. During the time the electrical compone nt is handled, frequently touch any conducting materi-

als that are connected to the ground.

ƒ Use an anti-static pad: Wh en configuring or working with an electrical component, place it on an

antic-stati c pad. This reduces the poss ibility of ESD damage.

ƒ Only handle the edges of the electrical component: When handling the electrica l component,

hold the electrical compo nent by its edges.

A.2 Maintena nce and Cleanin g Precautions

When maintaini ng or cleaning the PCH5120, please follow the guidel ines below.

A.2.1 Mainten ance and Cleani ng

Prior to cleaning any part or component of the PCH5120 , please read the details below.

ƒ Except for the LCD panel, never spray or squirt liquids directly onto any other componen ts. To

clean the LCD panel, gent ly wipe it with a piece of soft dry cloth or a slightly moistened cloth.

ƒ The interior does not requi re cleaning. Keep fluids away from the int erior.

ƒ Be careful not to damage the small, remo vable components inside.

ƒ Turn off before cleaning.
