3. Release pressure on the center conductor and mate the outer conductor of the sliding
load with the outer conductor of the cable/test port connector. Torque the c onnection
with a 3/4 inch torque w rench to approximately 135 N-cm (12 in-lb). Refer to “Final
Connection Using a Torque Wrench” on page 3-16 for additio na l in fo rmat io n .
4. Retighten the center conductor pull -back nut. It will “click” when it i s tight.

How to Separate a Connection

T o a void l ateral (bending) f orce on the connecto r mating plane surfaces , alwa ys support the
devices and connections.
CAUTION T urn the connector nut, not the device body. Major damage to the center
conductor can occur if the device body is twisted.
1. Use an open-end wrench to prevent the device body from turning.
2. Use another open-end wrench to loosen the connector nut.
3. Complete the separation by hand, turning only the connector nut.
4. Pull the c onnectors straight apart without tw isting, rocking, or bending either of the
connectors.
