3-4 Fail Over
WAN failure detection works by detecting the presence of traffic on the 3G modem link. If the link is idle for too long the router will attempt to ping a target IP address. If the ping does not reply, the router assumes the link is down and attempts to fail over to ethernet WAN link.

Here are descriptions of every setup items:

WAN Priority (2): | Please select the WAN connection priority from the |
| menu. |
Idle Timeout | Please input the idle time for detecting the Internet |
Detect (3): | connection. If the major Internet connection is idle for this amount |
| of time then the router will send a ping to the target IP Address |
| you have assigned. If the ping gets a reply, the router will restart |
| the idle timer, otherwise it will failover to the second priority of |
| WAN connection. |
Note: The router will not connect back to the first priority of Internet connection
once it has already failed over to another one106 .
