operating parts of the mower head. These items could then swing outside the housing at
greater velocities than the blades. Such a situation is extremely haza rdous and could r esult
in serious injury or even death. Inspect the cutting area for such objects before mowing.
Remove any like object from the site. Never allow the cutting blades to contact such items.

8.4 Shutting Down the Attached Head

To shut down attached mower head, first bring the
tractor to a complete stop. Decrease engine RPM
to idle then disengage cutterhea d. The mower head
will come to a complete stop within a suitable
amount of time. Do not engage or disengage the
cutterheads at a high RPM unless there is an
emergency situation.
Park the tractor on a level surface, place the
transmission in park or neutral and apply the
parking brake, shut do wn the engine, remove the
key, and wait for all motion to come to a complete
stop before exiting the tractor. OPS-B- 0011
BEFORE leaving the tractor se at, always engage the brake and/or set
the tractor transmission in parking gear, dise ngage the PTO, stop the
engine, remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop. Place th e
tractor shift lever into a low range or parking gear to prevent the tractor
from rolling. Never dismount a Tractor that is moving or while the engine
is running. Operate the Tractor controls from the tractor seat only. (SG-9)
