Intrusion Detection

APC’s Wireless Mobile Router provides intrusion detection (Figure 55) through the firewall and email configurations, as follows:

Firewall Configuration

SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) and Anti-DoS firewall protection

(Default: Disable) – The Wireless Mobile Router’s Intrusion Detection feature limits access for incoming traffic at the WAN port. When the SPI feature is turned on, all incoming packets are blocked.

Discard Ping from WAN (Default: Disable) – Prevents any

response to ping commands on the Wireless Mobile Router’s WAN port.
