5.2.4Changing the Power Settings
To help you get the most battery life out of your Gmini before having to recharge it, you can adjust the power settings. Go to [Setup Î Power].
Parameter | Description |
Power Off | Range : 1 to 9 or Never. |
| Values 1 – 9 represent the number of minutes of user inactivity before the |
| Gmini automatically shuts off. The Gmini will not shut off during the |
| playback of music files or during recording. Never indicates that the Gmini |
| will not do an automatic shut down. |
Backlight Off | Range : 1 to 11 or Never. |
| These values represent 10 – 110 seconds of user inactivity (no buttons |
| pressed) before the Gmini turns off the blue backlight. Never indicates that |
| the backlight will always stay on. Keeping the backlight on will reduce the |
| battery time. |
LCD Contrast | Range : 0 to 7 |
| These values represent the black/white contrast of the screen. |

| This allows you to choose the source of your recording. If you use the |

| multiconnect headphone jack, and then plug the audio source into the line- |
| in jack of the adapter plug. If you use Mic, then you should speak into the |
| |
| connect the included cable to the SPDIF jack on the multiconnect plug, and |
| then on the other side, connect the yellow RCA connector to the SPDIF |
| Out on your stereo system. |
Record Format | MP3. |
| Determines the file format that will be recorded. Today only MP3 (ISO |
| MPEG1 layer 3) sound encoding format is available. The recordings are |
| made as 16 bit sampled sound to create a |
| 32kb/s, 96kb/s, 128kb/s, 192kb/s. |
| Allows you to set the recording quality of the |
| per second. The higher the value, the better the quality of the recording but |
| also the more disk drive space that will be taken up. |
Mic Bitrate | 16kb/s, 64kb/s, 96kb/s, 112kb/s. Allows you to set the recording quality |
| of the microphone in terms of kilobits per second. The higher the value, the |
| better the quality of the recording but also the more disk drive space that |
| will be taken up. |
